with brush and bluebonnet. What vision it must have taken to imagine, on that spot, one
of the world's great universities: a place of wisdom, tradition, and a sense of spirit so
profound that it lives forever in the hearts of its former students.
In this collection of photographs, I
have endeavored to create an enduring portrait of the character and spirit that are so
much a part of this extraordinary place. With photographer Bob Herger, I enjoyed capturing
visual expressions of the dignity, grace and awesome beauty of the area.
